LIGHTHOUSE: Lighting Terms (Shake My World) What’s New?

Bob and Terry will be providing basic, intermediate and advanced level information on five lighting terms, along with the possible changes that will rock our lighting world. All types of lighting practitioners at all levels will want to tune in for this one.
Terry McGowan, FIES, LC

Terry is involved in illuminating engineering/lighting design, lighting education and lighting research. His professional career of 60+ years includes GE Lighting at Nela Park where he was Manager of the GE Lighting Institute. These days, in addition to consulting work, he acts on behalf of the American Lighting Association (ALA) as their Director of Engineering and Technology and is the Executive VP of the J. H. McClung Lighting Research Foundation.
He is a Fellow of the Illuminating Engineering Society and the 2009 recipient of the IES Medal Award in recognition of his work as a lighting educator, researcher and author.
Terry serves on several UL and CSA Standards Technical Panels as well as committees of the IES and CIE. He is also a Lifetime Member of DarkSky International and co-chair of their technical committee.
Bob Henderson, LC, CLEP

Bob has worked in lighting as a consultant, lighting center principal instructor, lighting sales agent, utility lighting specialist and director of lighting education at two training centers. He has worked with cities and towns across NC and SC to develop over 25 municipal lighting ordinances. Bob served on the NCQLP LC Test committee for 10 years, chair for 2 years and later as their senior advisor. He is the current US lead instructor for the CLEP (Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional) sponsored by the Association of Energy Engineers.
Bob is an emeritus member of the IES and received their Distinguished Service Award in 2023.
